SCORING

The following points system will be used for the triathlon and aquathlon.

Only the top 5 from any country can score points, after that the points will roll down to the next country that has not already had 5 athletes score. No adjustment for the total number of athletes in the events will be made.

The following points system will be used for the mixed relay.

  • Compliant country mixed relay races will be scored as double the individual points and adjusted based on the number of teams entered and a maximum number of scoring teams per NF/Country.
  • Ten or more participants awarded based on 20, 16, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 points, max number of scoring teams per NF =5
  • 8 or 9 participants awarded based on 20, 16, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 points, max number of scoring teams per NF =4
  • 7 participants awarded based on 16, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 points, max number of scoring teams per NF =3
  • 6 participants awarded based on 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 points, max number of scoring teams per NF =3
  • 5 participants based on 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 points, max number of scoring teams per NF=2
  • 4 participants based on 8, 6, 4, 2 points, max number of scoring teams per NF =2
  • 3 participants awarded based on 6, 4, 2 points, max number of scoring teams per NF =1
  • 2 participants awarded based on 4, 2 points, max number of scoring teams per NF=1
  • 1 participant awarded 2 point, max number of scoring teams per NF =1

When a mixed relay team meets the criteria of 2 males, 2 females and 3 of the athletes are from different age group but the participants are not from the same country, points will awarded based on the format above except the points will be split equally amongst the athletes on the team and counted towards the cumulative country points for their respective countries. Therefore, teams which do not meet the criteria of 2 males, 2 females and 3 athletes from different age groups are not eligible to race in the Championships.
